Our client found Here For You Concierge through a recommendation request for her Bethlehem neighborhood on Nextdoor. She was in her 80s and wanted help organizing the home she shared with her husband.
Both were facing health challenges, and she had physical limitations that made organizing on her own difficult. Her husband was legally blind but loved spending time in the basement, where he enjoyed tinkering with projects.
Over the years, the basement had gradually filled with belongings, making it harder – and less safe – for him to move around.
Her biggest concern wasn’t making the basement look nicer. She simply wanted her husband to continue enjoying one of his favorite places safely. That became our first goal.

Because of her physical limitations, our client remained comfortably seated throughout each organizing session while we handled the lifting, sorting, carrying, and organizing. We met in two-hour sessions so she could participate in every decision without becoming exhausted.

We sorted closets, organized storage areas, and carefully reviewed clothing that no longer fit her or her current lifestyle. Many pieces were sold through consignment, allowing them to be appreciated by someone else rather than simply discarded. She was pleasantly surprised when the check for her items arrived in the mail.
After creating safe, open pathways in the basement, we continued room by room throughout the rest of the home.
There wasn’t a deadline or pressure. There was simply steady progress.
That’s one of the biggest misconceptions about generational organizing.
It isn’t about getting rid of everything. It’s about thoughtfully deciding what still serves your life today while you’re able to make those decisions yourself.
More Than Professional Organizing
As the organizing project progressed, our relationship naturally evolved.
Our client realized she could also use help managing everyday household responsibilities, so she hired us for Household Management services.
We helped with tasks like changing the sheets, washing laundry, emptying the dish washer, and other day-to-day responsibilities that had become increasingly difficult because of her physical limitations.
These everyday tasks may seem small, but they gave her back her sense of independence. She could stay in her home with some much-needed support.
Sometimes organizing is only the beginning. As life’s seasons change, the kind of support people need changes too.
The Ripple Effect Across Generations
Eventually, every room in the home had been thoughtfully organized.
Some time later, we received a call from our client’s daughter. She was facing a major life transition of her own.
After going through a divorce while raising her children, she found herself also surrounded by years of accumulated belongings. Several rooms in her home had become overwhelming, but she wasn’t looking for someone to simply haul everything away.
She wanted to make thoughtful decisions. She wanted usable items to go to charities that could truly benefit from them. She wanted to recycle responsibly whenever possible. She wanted someone to help her determine what should be kept, what could be donated, and what no longer served her family.
During that conversation, she also shared that her mother had passed away. While our hearts were heavy, one thing became incredibly clear.
